“The totally unexpected loss of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is a massive setback for the conservative movement and our COUNTRY.” Note then GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump in his tweet on Scalia’s death in February, 2016, capitalized country. Trump made sure one and all knew that the death of the ultra-conservative lightening rod, Justice Scalia was not just a setback for conservatives but the nation. Trump’s mourning for Scalia was not campaign hyperbole or a cheap effort to capitalize on his death to ingratiate himself with the ultra-right. On more than one occasion on the campaign trail, he didn’t hesitate when asked who he most admired on the High Court. His answer was immediate Judge Scalia. Clarence Thomas was a close second in his pantheon of most admired SCOTUS justices.
Trump made clear his hero worship of Scalia was based squarely on the fact that the long sitting judge on the bench was the embodiment of hard-line, take-no-prisoners ultra-conservative, strict constructionist principles. But Scalia was more than a rightist ideologue on the court. He was hawk like in pouncing on any issue that even remotely strayed from his rigid view of conservative legal principles. He never shirked from cajoling, hectoring, and ruminating on any and every point of constitutional law as he interpreted it. His self-appointed mission was to stiffen the spine of conservatives on the bench on the big-ticket issues whether they be torpedoing voting rights to upholding corporate power.
So, Trump’s quest was to make sure that Scalia’s judicial legacy would be preserved at all costs on the Supreme Court. Trump understood that another Scalia could potentially enshrine the ultra-conservative position on all issues of law and public policy for years, maybe even decades, to come.
In Scalia’s Shadow The Trump Supreme Court, political analyst Earl Ofari Hutchinson assesses the devastating impact that another Scalia on the Supreme Court will have on law and public policy. And why Trump in his homage to Scalia at his death capitalized COUNTRY.

Oh man, politics (sigh), I don’t know if all of this discussions about politics is due to the technological advances in the recent years, and more people is able to read and educate themselves in the matter, but to me is all the same, that’s why all the time I hear someone discussing about the topic I ran far away from that place.
The truth about politics is that there is no middle, you are either in one side or the other, there is no neutral side, no unbiased opinion or anything like it, so when it comes to a book like this, there are going to be people bashing it for not being neutral and others praising it for the same reason.
The least I could say about it is that is too long (despite being way too short) it repeats a lot of things and you could cut half of the book and read it anyway and none valuable intel will be missing, there is some interesting details and information but that’s just all of this is about.

In Scalia Shadow The Trump Supreme Court edition by Earl Ofari Hutchinson Politics Social Sciences eBooks Reviews

In Scalia's Shadow The Trump Supreme Court written by Earl Ofari Hutchinson is a book about President Donald Trump’s conservative take on how the Supreme Court should handle cases, especially when it comes to Abortion rights. This book is incredibly short, and in my opinion, could use a bit more clarification and information to support the issues raised, such as referencing case names, but not detailing what the case was about. I did find this book very interesting, especially in regards to Judge Scalia and President Donald Trump’s conservative views, and how they are applying these views to National Law. In the wake of Scalia’s death, Donald Trump had to find a replacement that would walk the conservative line and that would match Mr. Trump’s views and expectations. The author did a good job explaining the views of Trump and Scalia, and showed how these views will affect America, even with the shortness of the book. The writer was very clear and concise, aside for repeat information a few times throughout the book. I highly recommend reading this book, for those interested in politics, or who would like to learn a bit more about the direction the current American government is going in.
This piece by Hutchinson couldn't be more timely. With Trump now tooting his horn, it's very unfortunate that now he can impregnate America with his venom. With the nomination of Judge Neil M. Gorsuch, Trump has made it no secret,he wants to take us back to a period of no enlightment. Hutchinson scores very well with his research that he brilliantly illustrates in this work.
The author ran out of ideas by the end of the 2nd chapter after that he just kept repeating the same ideas, often with the words. Liberals will like the book, not so much for anyone else
Very left leaning and the truth is distorted. Bad book
While a very short book, In Scalia's Shadow The Trump Supreme Court by Earl Ofari Hutchinson takes a look at Trump's promise to appoint a conservative judge to the SCOTUS following his winning the presidential election in the United States. This book does contain quite a bit of bias which some readers may find off-putting. The author definitely takes a liberal position in the examination of the facts surrounding the Supreme Court and Scalia's storied tenure. Hutchinson is accurate in saying that it was Trump's mission to appoint a conservative, constructionist judge to the Supreme Court, this point was made rather redundantly throughout the book. While some may not agree with the premise or direction of the book, the writing was adequate enough to convey the point and message the author was trying to make.
Only 22 pages long, but still managed to have over 1/3 repeated verbatim from earlier in the book. Could have been edited down to 10-11 pages without losing anything. Reads like a bunch of Tumblr posts, and pretty lacking in actual analysis. Which is the author's day job.

Referring to Scalia as Thomas's schoolmaster is as offensive as it is baseless.
Earl Ofari Hutchinson received his BS in sociology from California State University, Los Angeles; his MA in humanities from California State University, Dominguez Hills; and his PhD in sociology from Pacific Western University. Hutchinson is a writer and a blogger for The Huffington Post news website. He is a frequent commentator for the American Urban Broadcast Network and Ed Gordon’s News and Notes on NPR. He is a featured columnist for BlackNews.com, BlackAmericaWeb.com, and Alternet.org. Hutchinson is also associate editor of New America Media, the country's first and largest national collaboration and advocate of 2,000 ethnic news organizations. As a part of the Coalition Against Media Exploitation, Hutchinson convinced President Clinton to pardon African American sailors charged in the “Port Chicago Mutiny.”

The background of the author of this book is important to the reader in discussing the attributes of this rather vitriolic presentation of the ongoing evidences of inadequacy and danger of Donald Trump as President of the USA.

Hutchinson’s Introduction says it all – ‘“The totally unexpected loss of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is a massive setback for the conservative movement and our COUNTRY.” Note then GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump in his tweet on Scalia’s death in February 2016, capitalized country. Trump made sure one and all knew that the death of the ultra-conservative lightening rod, Justice Scalia was not just a setback for conservatives but the nation. So, Trump’s quest was to make sure that Scalia’s judicial legacy would be preserved at all costs on the Supreme Court. Trump understood that another Scalia could potentially enshrine the ultra-conservative position on all issues of law and public policy for years, maybe even decades, to come.’

And the tension grows as does the concern for the White House decisions on many terrifying matters. Earl Ofari Hutchinson is waving a flag we should all note. Grady Harp, February 17
